What is your success rate in helping students gain admission to top-tier or best-fit colleges?
Although the success rate varies by student, I focus on aligning their strengths, interests, and goals with colleges where they will thrive. My personalized approach ensures each student is positioned as a competitive applicant. Over the last 20 years, I have worked with more than 2,000 students and have a strong track record of helping students gain admission to top-tier and Ivey league colleges. However, not every student is looking for the same college experience, and many have been accepted to other institutions nationwide.
How do you personalize your approach to each student’s strengths, interests, and goals?
Each student is unique, and my approach is individualized. I work closely with students to understand their passions, academic interests, career goals, and values. By tailoring my guidance to match their personality and aspirations, I help them develop a genuine and compelling application that reflects who they are and what they offer.
What experience and credentials do you have in college admissions counseling?
With extensive experience in college admissions counseling, I take a holistic approach to help students find the right academic fit while fostering personal growth and long-term success. As a certified MBTI Practitioner, I use assessments to guide career exploration and decision-making. I specialize in leadership coaching, application strategy, and essay development, staying current on admissions trends through active membership in IECA, HECA, NACAC, and LDGA. My counseling background ensures students feel confident and supported throughout the process.
How early should we start working with you, and what does the timeline look like?
The earlier you start college planning, the more opportunities your student has to explore interests, build a strong resume, and approach applications with confidence. Ideally, families begin in 9th or 10th grade to plan academics, extracurriculars, and summer activities while exploring career paths with MBTI and Strong Interest Inventory assessments. For 11th and 12th graders, we focus on building a balanced college list, test strategies (SAT/ACT/AP), and compelling applications. We craft strong essays, highlight leadership, and provide scholarship and financial aid guidance. No matter when you start, early planning reduces stress and leads to stronger, more strategic applications. My goal is to help students present their best selves and feel confident in their college choices.
How do you support students in crafting strong and authentic essays without over-editing?
I help students craft authentic, compelling essays by guiding them through brainstorming, reflection, and structured feedback—without over-editing or altering their voice. I focus on asking the right questions to help students refine their storytelling, strengthen their message, and bring out their personalities in a natural way. Rather than rewriting, I help them recognize areas where they can add specificity, emotion, or a stronger connection to their overall application theme. My approach encourages clarity, depth, and personal storytelling, ensuring each essay highlights their unique experiences and strengths while staying true to who they are.
What role do you play in helping students showcase extracurricular activities, leadership roles, or summer programs?
I help students select and showcase extracurricular activities, leadership roles, and summer programs by guiding them toward opportunities that align with their interests, strengths, and future aspirations. The focus is on quality over quantity, ensuring their involvement demonstrates genuine passion, commitment, and growth. I work with students to identify activities that build relevant skills, showcase leadership, and reflect their values. Additionally, I assist in strategically presenting these experiences in college applications, emphasizing the impact and contributions they've made, not just their participation. This approach ensures that their extracurriculars and summer programs authentically reflect who they are, strengthening their overall application and preparing them for success.
What are you fees and what is included in your services?
My fees are structured to reflect the level of support and personalized guidance I provide. I offer various services, including college list building, application strategy, essay coaching, interview prep, and more. Pricing varies depending on the scope of the services you need, whether you're looking for a comprehensive package that covers the entire college application process or a la carte services for specific areas like essay coaching or interview prep. Each service package includes detailed consultations, personalized feedback, and tailored strategies to fit your student's needs. I'd love to help you navigate the process, so I encourage you to set up a meet-and-greet to discuss which program will work best for you and your family. How do you involve parents in the process while ensuring the student takes ownership of their applications?
The college application process is a team effort, and I ensure that parents are involved in a way that supports and empowers the student. While parents provide valuable insight, encouragement, and logistical support, I focus on ensuring the students take ownership of their applications by guiding them to make their own decisions and fostering their independence. I work closely with parents to ensure they are informed and can offer support when needed. Still, I encourage students to lead in essay writing, interview preparation, and decision-making. This balance helps students develop confidence and ownership over their journey, while parents can be involved in providing guidance, helping with deadlines, and offering emotional support. The goal is to create a collaborative environment where everyone is working toward the same goal, but the student is empowered to make the process their own
