Established in 1963, Kennesaw State University is the third largest University in Georgia with more than 24,600 Undergraduate and Graduate students representing 132 countries. It is located northwest of Cobb County near historic Kennesaw Mountain, allowing students to experience the best of Atlanta while enjoying the 328 acre, beautifully landscaped campus. They offer more than 70 Undergraduate degree programs in the arts, humanities, social sciences, mathematics, natural sciences, business, education, computing and health sciences.
The University’s mission is to provide educational programs that serve a diverse student body which includes young adults who enroll as freshman or undergraduate transfers and an equally large number of older adults who return or transfer to the University. Their nursing program is the largest nursing program in Georgia. The graduating nurses have the highest passing rates on the statewide licensing exam and are highly sought after in the medical community. The College of Education is the 2nd largest preparer of teachers in Georgia and the Executive MBA Program is the recognized among the best in the world by CEO Magazine. KSU has been recognized ten consecutive years for its 1st year program and as one of the top universities in the region by U.S. News and World Report in the America’s Best College’s issue. The statistics show that freshman really enjoy their first year because the average retention rate is 76.2%. While receiving an education, students have the opportunity to get involved by joining any of the 150 students groups and organizations.
One great aspect of KSU is their low student to teacher ratio of 21 to 1. 21% of the classes have fewer than 20 students, so students can get to know professors and have plenty of time for one on one help with course work. The three most popular majors are Business and Marketing, Education and Communication. The University offers tutoring to all students and has a wonderful safety program that includes 24 hour patrols, late night transportation services, 24 hour emergency telephones and controlled dorm access just to name a few.
The application deadline for Kennesaw State University is May 11th and the fee is $40. The acceptance rate is 62.5%.
In state tuition and fees are $6,486 and out of state tuition is $18,762.
