Some of Georgian's favorite pastimes in July include watersports, hiking, outside dining, and shopping. However, as an Educational Consultant who specializes in college admissions, I know that my seniors always enjoy taking their computers or pens and journals poolside to craft their supplemental essays, right? Well, guess what?
The University of Georgia released today's blog saying that they will continue to use the same essay questions as years past.
A more extended personal essay, known as the Common App writing section or personal statement (250-650 words).
A shorter essay, "The college admissions process can create anxiety. In an attempt to make it less stressful, please tell us an interesting or amusing story about yourself from your high school years that you have not already shared in your application." (200-300 words)
UGA will align with the Common Application Release of August 1st.
Early Action Deadline is October 22nd
Regular Decision Deadline is January 8th
Williams Educational Consultants highly advises that students think outside of the box for the shorter essay and make it memorable! Be unique. Be funny. Just remember that your story has to be something that took place in your high school years, not as an infant! Best of luck to all the seniors as you begin the journey towards graduation!
