How will US News & World Reports be able to build a ranking system with so many universities going test-blind or test-optional? You will have to wait until fall to learn more! Higher education trends are changing quickly and vastly. Therefore U.S. News & World Reports are adapting to these trends by changing their own system rankings.
According to their blog, "Although the data schools reported for the upcoming 2021 Best Colleges rankings is from fall 2019 admissions and not affected by COVID-19, schools themselves definitely are and will be impacted by the spread of the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. U.S. News believes now is the right time to end the use of standardized tests in admissions decisions as a requirement for inclusion in the rankings."
Due to COVID19, rankings will include 14% more colleges! Do you think that colleges will move much in their ranking system? Or will the usual suspsects still be in the top 20 list?
*Test Blind means students are not required to submit any standardized test scores. Test Optional means that schools do not require the testing, but will consider scores if a student submits their results.
